it affects everyone. people dont want to enter the off-topic section to be welcomed to a thread that adds nothing of value to anything. and yeah they dont last an eternity, but it will influence other attention seekers to join in the "fun" and keep spamming them non stop. its not a short lived fad because it happened before and it will happen again. im not forced to do anything sure but just as everyone else i wait for good threads to pop up and the fact that my time is wasted putting my eyeballs on this irrelevant stuff is annoying
Believe it or not, a lot of threads in Off Topic don't add anything of value to anything, these aren't the only ones. I don't get why you're saying that the topics get spammed non stop, because the fad usually occurs once a year and lasts a day.
