International effort to pay for and build a rocket ship that will carry a specialized nuclear bomb which is will release on a fly by and blow the asteroid off its course away from Earth.
It will also have a Plan B, which would be a second nuclear device that would be used to blow up the asteroid if need be.
SpaceX claims that they have a launch plan that would allow the launching of two rockets that would carry the bombs and then the spacecraft or whatever and they can assemble/dock in space and go off to save the day.
But they don't have the nuclear bombs.
And the test ban treaty needs a clause added.
