I personally have never encountered a game that uses ESDF.
Also, seems a bit stuffty to gain QAZ but lose Ctrl.
With WASD you still have Q and Z, and X isn't too difficult to get to.
And, Tab, Caps and Shift are in reach (although not always automatically bound in games you often can set them as keybinds), and you can get to Ctrl.
It's also just a little bit easier to reach 1,2,3 and then move your hand to get 4 to 0. And you're probably more likely to need 123 first.
WHereas you may need to shift your hand slightly to reach 1 if using ESDF.
