Blockland for Mac, File error prompt

Hello, so recently got a new mac and installed blockland through steam onto it. I get this error message everytime I run it. I've installed Steam onto the applications so I'm not running on a disk image unlike what the error message says. Could it be that I have really old add ons that I transferred through steam cloud that the game isn't agreeing with?

download standalone blockland (no steam), run it, and copy all of the items from ~/documents/blockland to ~/library/application support/steam/steamapps/userdata/blockland

in case you don't know unix: ~ is your home folder
