Author Topic: Regaining Game Key  (Read 4907 times)

Why are you leaving any important data on the library computers? Delete your stuff before you go, problem solved.

Using a public wifi doesn't mean you can freely access other computers??? Try stealing a file from any of them, it won't work.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make about teamviewer. If you're letting strangers access your computer then there are much worse things to do then stealing a blockland key. You're probably using it wrong.
The key.dat is generated when you put your key in on Blockland. If someone is in the middle of playing, or has the game installed they can grab the file. It's a file in the game itself, not something you actually keep saved in an important txt document (like you should). Every Blockland that is authentic has this file, that's what makes it important. You can't simply "not have the .dat"

Don't you wish there was an edit button here too?

Also, collecting key.dats from other computers is useless. You have to run the program on the same computer the key.dat was generated on. You can only decrypt your own key.

You know there are ways of executing programs through other user's PC's

My whole point is the security measure. The program itself isn't a bad idea (being able to retrieve your key.dat file back to original auth key so you have it again if you didn't save it before and forgot your email stuff) It's an understandable situation but I can't help feel as if this can be easily abused to steal someones key info if the proper circumstances were to apply to the situation

If someone has access to arbitrary execution on someone else's machine, there are far more important things they could steal than a Blockland key.

Easily abused? You're contriving bizarre scenarios where Blockland keys are worth going through ridiculous amounts of effort to steal and yet nobody is making any effort to protect themselves.

What the hell is Goth on?

What the hell is Goth on?
I have no idea.
my point exactly
am I the only one here that thinks goth is being a bit silly?

I don't think goth realizes how difficult/impractical it would be for most of the things he's saying
