Sorry - didn't mean to word that so overtly. What I mean is that opression is inevitable, but we should still respect minorities, if they have below 20% standing. What I mean by this is not that we keep being rude to the 30%, or anyone that has a population above 20% - but we should repect people for who they are regardless of what they do.
Well it sounded like you were arguing that oppression doesn't exist
There is a large distinction in attitude between a teenager who is having "loveual identity issues" and someone who is gay, or bi, or whathaveyou.
I'm asking about specific situations in which LGBT teens attention whore
I'd urge everyone to not make assumptions about LGBT people using the experiences you've had yourself
Outwardly LGBT people are uncommon to meet. You may have met dozens of LGBT people who never even mentioned it or weren't out.
Yes. They make complete asses of themselves by demanding special attention and treatment, then anyone who doesn't realize their apparent special royalty status is either a "bigot" or a "family man" or anything of the like.
I'm pretty sure you've only read about gay people on the internet or something
Guys, the LGBT clubs are to offer protection when needed and to help bring at least some measure of awareness of LGBT likeness and so forth. They are by no means "pushing" they're they're loveuality upon you. They're not being flamboyant pricks about it lol. And plus, there is not need for heteroloveual acceptance because it's already a majority and accepted widely; homoloveuality, etc. isn't. "Maybe we should start putting up posters and form groups in school to promote heteroloveual acceptance too. It only makes it fair, right?" <people need to stop using this an argument.
Not everyone has a safe place they can strive in y'know, and it's not like people don't get harassed constantly for loveual orientation, etc. on school ground.
Exactly. The day someone gets kicked out of their house for being straight, or commits Self Delete because their friends and family have alienated them because they're straight, or someone is beaten and hurt because they're straight, or legally fired or evicted or denied a loan or expelled because they're straight, there will be a need for heteroloveual pride and acceptance.
Well, I suppose it's really in personal experience. There's no way to really document it, as it's taken so lightly and therefore goes undocumented. It's sort of like a "feed them to the wolves" type thing if they disagree with ANY part of ANYTHING they do, whether or not its related to their actual loveuality. All this being said, I have no problem with gays or lesbians, but maybe even the fact that I have to say that to avoid horrendous flaming is proof of the point I'm trying to get across.
"The wise man knows he knows nothing, the fool thinks he knows all."
Consider expanding your worldview before you make generalizations about 350 million people, (5% of the world population) or even 15 million people (LGBT people in the US)
All the LGBT people I know (the many) are chill people
