What defines a thread as a megathread?

I mean, I guess they're real at this point, but not in the beginning
saying something is a megathread before it's really mega...... HAH

like, the battlefield thread, it started out only about the trailer, but then people just kept talking about battlefield stuff in general, and eventually it became truly mega
