Author Topic: Cannot connect to anything that ISNT Google based  (Read 2171 times)

In all seriousness? Threaten to drop comcast over the phone and it might start working.
that won't work because it's very likely that comcast is his only option and it's not comcast's issue because
being able to connect to the BLF on my tablet
it's only not working on his computer

Why not just wait for google fiber?
Reset absolutely everything, unplug and replug your router. If that doesn't work, take it apart and check to make sure there's nothing inside of it keeping it from working. If that doesn't work, you have either a screwy internet provider problem, or a broken router. Sorry mate, that's the way the cookie catches flames.

If you can connect with your laptop, try accessing your router from your PC. It's usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. If none work, check your router's case.

This isn't a problem with my internet. It is with my DNS ports. If you don't know what that is, then you can't help.

DNS aren't ports, they're servers with domain names.
It makes no sense if you can connect via your tablet on the same network and not via your computer.

It's sad when you get outclassed by a communist dog, but I got outclassed by a communist dog.
Can't help you. Sorry for wasting your time.

You keep saying two different things
This isn't the issue, the issue is with the IPv4

DNS aren't ports, they're servers that translate between ip addresses and domain names

Anyways a quick google of your problem says to make sure ipv4 is enabled in the connection settings

Also
right click the network icon in the system tray

does this yield anything helpful?

Yes, I meant to say that.

Contact your ISP. Chances are they won't do stuff, but it's always worth a shot.

I tried to input those two IPs, nothing.
Yes, the diagnostic says that it's an error with my DNS not running. Again, I've tried changing the IPv4 several times, but that hasn't done anything.

Everyone can agree that this sounds semi stupid but system restore should fix it if its Windows.

I'd rather not resort to system restore. Anyways, here's an update: After looking around for about an hour, I came across many similar solutions saying that it is indeed an error with the DNS servers. None of said solutions have improved nor declined the situation. One thing I notice, when I load a non-google web page, it will flash from an error screen to some network error site.

It's not internet connection related.
All they can do is send a tech out and charge him $50 for it because it's not caused by them

The checkbox enabled next to this guy here

Also type the following lines into a command line and screenshot the results

nslookup blockland.us

ping 162.159.244.202

netsh interface ip show config

I may seem like a legitimate handicap, but how am I supposed to upload those screenshots?

You can just upload them as attachments under additional options when you post
