I just like having my guns barely recognizable  with attachments that I'll never use

Sad but true

The one and only true belgian weapon.
The M249 with a whopping 200 round belt and a rate of fire up to 800RPM.
Firing 5.56×45mm NATO rounds and weighting 10Kg loaded
My all time favorite LMG.

Besides the M249 belgium also made the famous P90 and FN F2000
Apples to oranges. With muzzle rise no one is going to fire the P90 in one continuous spray of lead. Do that too much and you risk breaking something or overheating the barrel which leads to ammo going off. The SAW was made for continuous fire, the P90 wasn't. Plus that small round isn't suited for long range and helps up flopping out the air like a wet noodle.

As for the saw, its descent. The M249s in service are mostly worn out and are a pain in the ass to take apart and reassemble.
