True, but we've established that Bethesda doesn't fully think out their mechanics.

to be fair most pre-war tech is modelled after 20-40's streamline designs. So the syringes probably didn't have to change much in look since they're already retro/rustic. Even syringes we use today are kinda ghetto looking.
