Don't suppose anyone has this glitch with Preston (particularly on Xbox)?
When I speak to him, he quips something back, but he does not come up with dialogue choices, so I cannot ask him to follow me, nor to trade with me, or to just speak.
Also, he lives in Sanctuary Hills, and almost anytime I approach him he will randomly glitch out, and just fall to the floor, in the way that companions do when they've lost all of their health.
And he will sit there for about 6-7 seconds, before standing up again, and continuing to not speak to me properly.
And finally, he quite regularly just teleports to the top of buildings in Sanctuary Hills (although my current companion will sometimes do this too), and he won't get down usually unless he collapses and glitches to the floor, or I move a ladder to him.

I haven't had any problems besides the speaking with part and the only fix was to load the last save I had where the companion would talk with me properly (Not even using all the console commands I could think of on PC worked to fix it). It seems as though it may have been related to dismissing them as a companion while accepting a new companion. For me it was Danse while in the airship
