gunplay is complicated but melee weapons are just 'hit the guy once you get in range' and don't really get more complicated then that
maybe like trick weapons that have means to help you close the distance or something. or maybe that would fit grenades better
smoke bombs that cause enemies to miss you, decoys that make them think there's another shooter attacking them, that sort of thing
