I don't see any need for speech recognition outside of being a fancy gimmick.
What if someone created something as advanced as Jarvis and was connected to your home?

on the more extreme end of things, sophisticated AI that could interpret and respond to human speech

which is to say, the exact same thing as this except on a larger scale

i'd buy it

got a spare arm and leg?
yes, which i will replace with a mechanical one

yes, which i will replace with a mechanical one

cool so are you gonna pay for that with your other arm and leg?

but to pay for mechanical replacements on those, you'll have to donate the rest of your body to science.

at that point, having a jarvis house would be redundant

i will donate my body to intel so they can turn me into a robot. robots aren't people, so i won't have to pay taxes

at that point, i can become the house and murder its inhabitants in a 2001-esque turn of events

"I CAN'T DO THAT, JOHN"

nvidia can sponsor me

Would it break forum rules for me to post a link to a non-invite android download? I got pretty sick of waiting for my invite after 2 days.

edit: is very good, but has trouble hearing my voice. gets things wrong 1/3 of the time. "Potatoes" becomes "The Taytos" and "Show Me Images" turned into "Show me Eye Manges"
seems weird for common words to turn into nonsense. even siri has that down.

this seems like a gimmick
doesn't seem much different that existing personal assistants with the only difference being it can take long inputs of text and individualize each question and answer in the respective order, which seems pretty useless to begin with

Did you see how fast it is and how well it understands voice? It makes it the best, simplistic PA.

That'd be creepy as stuff and I'd move to a new home.
