Author Topic: Pixel Shine/Gleem effect - How would you do it?  (Read 490 times)

So I drew this katana thing and I was thinking of how people would create shine/gleem effects.
How would you do it?
(The Red "S" is a signature, nothing to really worry about)

Sorry if its too small to see...

faster, shine could also be a bit tinted to the colour

Much faster.
Maybe a small lens flare that moves with the shine as well.

maybe a bit brighter in the center of the shine

Faster
Not one solid color, add some highlights and shadows
Not perfectly flat and straight shape

Try doing it perpendicularly to that. A sword would only reflect light like that if it was curved sideways, which would make no sense.
The amount of light shining back isn't like a yes or no thing, you might want to have partially shiny bits to the sides of the main shiny.
