actually when the pioneers of the 90s discovered photoshop. they wielded a secret tool under it called beveling and gradients

now previously the pioneers used all sorts of tools, but these were top notch to them

then in the late 2000s, they worn out the tools and they became useless. so they decided to never use the secret tools ever again, and discovered the art of not using tools at all. they call it simplicity
