I have to walk around the outside of the school in the mornings because they had to close the other entrance because of this dumb thing they're doing where they need to check everyone's uniform before they enter
the dumb thing about it is that they do the exact same thing in form
also they're doing this new thing where we always have to walk on the left side of the corridors
quite obviously nobody's actually following that at all though
I still hate how some schools allow normal clothes (with dress code still) whilst some others (like mine) always tell you to wear specific uniform

my school pretty light just be here on time and don't be late, don't forget around and you're ight. no dress code but you know, have some decency.

The only super strict thing is some teachers don't let you listen to music in class and the usual stuff (no food in certain classrooms or areas of a classroom etc.)

Also the dress code is pretty heavily enforced here

We have sniper towers around the campus with barbed wire guarding the fences and police officers patroll the halls

Everyone smokes weed in their dorms and you can do whatever the forget you want so that's pretty cool

Dresscode is pretty lax here, just be decent, no belly shirts or booty shorts, no inappropriate words or imagery on clothes/supplies, and no phones or earbuds/headphones in the lobby. Some classes restricted phones and food, but that's mainly just science or math classes.

We had one police guy that would walk around, but that was pretty much it.
He'd always hang out and fool around with us in the graphics shop too.

It's a state college, so pretty chill.

Also these dress codes and stuff are done with the intention of "minimizing distractions" and stuff
But it's far more distracting when a teacher interrupts the entire class, tells the student their clothing isn't good, have the student argue back for a few minutes, etc, over something that I don't think anyone really cared about as far as being distracted by it
That's one thing that always gets me. Girls are given strict dress codes so as "not to distract boys". Maybe teach these boys that it's impolite and inappropriate to stare instead of having a "boys will be boys" attitude.

When I was in high school they were pretty laid back on rules, but the place was practically a factory. There were principals at every single hallway during most pass times and they'd see and know everything. Drug use was never a thing because it was automatic suspension with recommendation for expulsion.

Some rooms were also 1/4 mile or more apart and you only had 5 minutes to maneuver around slow people too. If you were so much as a few seconds late to class during a hall sweep, you got an automatic three hour detention.

Now I'm in college where everything is much more relaxed. Dress codes are still a thing afaik but I doubt anyone really bats an eye about it. Most people are adults and know how to dress normally so it's not an issue so far. However, the professors can be pretty nosy and seem to love the college technology but not the technology of the students. They're always recommending things supported by the college over our methods that may work just as well or better. Also twice now that I've been doing homework in the math lab, professors (one time being my actual calculus instructor) have seen me using my tablet in addition to the college computers and sneak up behind me to look at my screen and make comments about what they see.

we're absurdly strict. close to 100 total cameras on a campus that only has about 350 students, all the webcams monitor you, your internet history is archived and tracked, today they set it up to where you have to allow them to track your cellphone if you use campus internet on them, and we also had to pay for parking passes this year.

we can't wear earbuds, if we visit a site that triggers the school web filter then we're in some deep stuff, the there's the usual stuff of huhbluh no bra strap, every person involved in a fight at school (even spectators) get in trouble, if they find out that you took a picture while at school then you're suspended

my school disallows the wearing of hats and blames it on imaginary gangs

That's pretty common

uniforms are pretty strict, if you're not wearing 1 part of the uniform or wearing something that's not part of it then you're in deep stuff

that's it really, phones are allowed but only as like calculators or if you're listening to music while working

we couldn't even wear hats when the school heaters broke and it was 40* in some rooms (this was after we had a massive ice storm). one teacher tried to be nice to let the kids who had to walk to school/ride the bus wear their hats for a while but then the dean wrote the students up and reported the teacher.
