Kane class Cruiser - Alpha Pictures #6

Ive been busy lately making new soundpacks and music loops, but I do have two pictures I would like to share tonight. Gradual renovation progress is happening all over the ship, and I will hopefully have many more pictures to share with you guys within the next week. However I am starting college next month, and I am also applying for my first job, so I wont have much free time in the future.

Here is what I can share with you though tonight.

This is the finalized exterior of the back of the engineering hull. Heavy-duty phasers have been mounted, which the ship is designed with since it is not meant to be a frontline combat ship, so with heavy aft phasers, it is better equipped for making tactical escapes rather than assaults. The aft Photon Torcreep tube has also been illuminated quite nicely.

The ugly old Shuttlebay Storage room on Deck 3 has been fully replaced with a nice little secondary junction room. It has 4 exits: one up the ladder to Deck 2, one down the Jeffries Tube to Deck 4, one to the Shuttlebay entrance corridor, and one to the Junction room.

I've been thinking of different names for the Kane class here, as that now the class name has been decided, the actual ship's name needs to be chosen.

Since the ship class is named in honor of my UK friend Captain C, I thought it only fitting to choose a ship name based on something related to England or England's history.
My ideas so far:

  • USS Lionheart NCC-1157 (In reference to King Richard 1)
  • USS Reed NCC 0961 (In reference to NX-01 Enterprise's British armory officer, Malcolm Reed)
  • USS Victory NCC 1575 (In reference to the famous British warship)

I've made a poll, so feel free to vote.

Thought you guys would enjoy this cool cutaway view I made of Deck 3 using Zeblote's new Duplicator.

Greyhound class Escort - Alpha Pictures #2

Hey guys. I've done some work on the Greyhound class today. I can't show you much of my exterior work cause the exterior is still quite a mess right now, but I should have pictures of some of the outside work in the future.

Anyways, I did get some good interior-related work done.

Firstly, I have built the first corridor design for the Greyhound class. It is supposed to bridge the design gap between the Post-NX Era Daedalus class corridors and the TOS Era Kane class corridors. This design may be subject to change, as I built this particular corridor design a bit large for the size of the Greyhound class.

Other than the corridor design, I have totally finished the interior and virtually all of the structural support bricks for the Greyhound's bridge. It's a somewhat cramped bridge design but that's inherent with the ship's small size. There's just enough space for players to walk in-between the stations on normal ground without having to jump and crawl over everything.

A better view of the back area of the bridge, with the Captain's chair in the center.

The Navigation/Helm and Tactical consoles.

And finally a view from one of the rear stations, showing what the front of the bridge interior looks like.

Until next time.

Hey guys just giving a news update. For the past week I have been doing a lot of work on the Daedalus class Frigate, and I plan to complete the ship before moving on to work on the Kane class again. I want to get RPs started ASAP and the Daedalus is not only the perfect size for a decent RP, but it is also by far the most finished of all my ships. Its 2/3 of the way done on being built.

Daedalus class Light Frigate - Beta Pictures #1

Hey guys! Back with some significant progress on the Daedalus class. This past week I have been doing a lot of work on the Sphere section of the Daedalus, filling in things and building new areas. Here's what I have to show you so far.

Firstly, I have finished making a new TOS era Print pack, which works for floor plates and 1x1/4x height print bricks. It'll be released soon. Check out the Daedalus's MSD print in the ship's RP spawn room, all lit up. Keep in mind though that the deck plans on the ship in the print are completely unrelated to the ship's interior layout in-game.

Some nifty exterior shots. I have added more exterior details to the Sphere, strengthened the neck's structure so it appears more sturdy, thickened the Nacelle Pylons, and redone the ship's red paint stripes so they are darker to be more in-line with the Pike era aesthetics.
Please excuse the clutter on the engineering hull and nacelles, that's stuff I have propped up on there for use in references/duplications.

D and C deck in the Sphere section are being worked on a ton. Here on D-deck, the main cargo bay is done. It is a fairly large room, spanning in height up to C deck and taking up a lot of space in the hull overall.

On the ceilings of the Cargo Bay are Maglev clamps for holding cargo up on the cieling. The cargo can be accessed and pulled down/opened from the metal grating catwalks spanning across the bay from C deck.

A view from the catwalks on C-deck in the Main Cargo Bay. Through the windows are the corridors of C-deck.

The corridors on C-deck are mostly done. Here's what they look like.

Overlooking the cargo bay from C-deck.

The ship's airlocks are also done, on C-deck. There are portside and starboard airlocks. They work for both going EVA and for disembarking when docked at a space station.

Airlock control room. One on each side. To open and close the airlocks, a player must operate the control booth in here to let in/out the person in the airlock.

That's all for now folks.

Super dope!

Looks even cooler ingame.

Big bump

Work on Kane class is continuing after all. Building the Daedalus to completion is proving too unrealistic a task. I'll return to wotk on it at a later date. More pictures of Kane class coming in the next few weeks or so.

Also, Star Trek TOS Music Megapack addon in OP is updated to Version 2. It includes many more new TOS era sounds.

OP Titlecard Picture is now updated and de-christmas-fied as well.

Planr's StarMade Trek Ships

While I continue work on the Kane class in anticipation of the next alpha picture screenshot dump, I hope you enjoy these pictures I have gathered of my old Star Trek ships that I built in StarMade. Since I do not play StarMade anymore I figured it would be nice to share my best creations with the world so my effort on these didn't go to waste. There are a lot of nice pictures I can share of these ships, so I've just made it so that you can click on the images to enlarge them. Enjoy :)

JJ-Trek Statts-class Science Cruiser
This is one of the older ships in my StarMade folder. It's a medium sized ship as far as StarMade craft go, clocking in at 164 meters long. However it is the largest Trek ship I ever built on StarMade. I designed it with aesthetics from the JJ-Trek movies, as I started building this shortly after I went and saw Star Trek Into Darkness. The ship is equipped with 6 pulse-fire Phaser banks on the front of the saucer rim.

If you're wondering where I got the name for it from, It's named after the last name of my first SO that I ever had in the 3rd Grade (lmao, i know, but its a good name tho).

As it is a very old ship it doesn't work well on StarMade anymore (game mechanics have changed tremendously), but it still looks just as good as ever. It has a small interior on the inside, with spaces inside the engineering hull, neck and saucer. It's even got a small shuttlebay in the back. They were never finished however, and likewise I never really finished this whole ship either. I did get 99% of its exterior done though, and most basic systems are functional.

WIP Daedalus Refit
This was my most recent Trek ship I made on StarMade, but even then I last worked on this back in November-ish of 2014. It was meant to be a small exploration/light combat ship, with a strong Jump-Drive and good shields/weapons. However, due to in-game circumstances with switching servers back then, I never finished it. However a lot of the outer hull was complete, except for the back end. The ship is 104 meters long, 60 meters shorter than the Statts class, although a lot more bulky.

Super Swiftwing-S Scoutship
The Super Swiftwing-S is a heavily modified version of Comr4de's NX-class miniature he used when we started playing on the French AMX StarMade server (aka "Baguette Land"). As I used to do with some of Comr4de's ships, I took his and made many upgrades to it. I modified it so much that only about 5% of the blocks left remaining in the spacecraft are Comr4de's original work. Even then, that was now well over a year ago and the ship no longer works well in StarMade anymore.

At 60 meters long, this is by far the smallest Trek ship I have ever done in StarMade. As you can probably tell, it's a fairly comical chibi-style Starfleet ship, with the little fat saucer and stocky nacelles. But it was a great ship for its time.

Old Borg Cube
This may well be one of the oldest StarMade ships I still have, even older than the Statts class I think. I built this back in mid-2013. It's 101 meters in diameter and is a perfect cube in terms of box dimensional shape. I never finished it, like most of my ships, but it was fun to build at the time. I had mostly intended it to be an RP style ship with a focus on interiors, but as StarMade has moved away from the direction where that would be more cool, I abandoned the project.

For the images here, I set up my WIP Daedalus so it looked like it was "Engaging the Borg". Also yes I am aware it is awkward for there to be a Christian cross on the inside of the Borg ship. That is not a symbolic comment on Christianity but just something that I simply used to do with a lot of my old ships.

Fleet Pictures
Here's my three Starfleet ships all put together in a little fleet :)

I even had them engage my Borg Cube.

I hope you enjoyed these nice pictures of my StarMade ships! I will hopefully have some more status updates soon on my Blockland ships.

Kane class Cruiser - Alpha Pictures #7

WOO! I have finally completed the structure for the top of the Kane class USS Lionheart's saucer section!

Another perspective of the saucer.

Posing for a picture on the saucer with some of my frequent server visitors/friends.

The newly completed Antimatter Containment facility on Deck 2 in the Engineering Hull. Here, the ship's supplies of Antimatter fuel are stored away in heavily shielded magnetic containment pods. The complex spans across a large portion of Deck 2, and occupies the former locations of the old Armory and Chief Engineer's quarters from many years back when this was still considered the "USS Enterprise project". The complex is split into two compartments. Compartment #1 (pictured here) stores 8 of the Antimatter Pods, and Compartment #2 stores 5.

Here you can see the majority of Compartment #1. Players enter the complex into this room. However, you can only enter safely if you are wearing an Environmental/Hazmat suit. Without one, you will slowly die from radiation damage! This is due to the "unavoidable" fact that the antimatter pods' containment fields emit high levels of electromagnetic radiation. This is something that is similar to the phenomenon that killed Spock in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. So if you don't want to end up dead like him - better bring your radsuit!

Compartment #2 of the Antimatter Containment complex. This is a long hallway-shaped room, that spans a good distance across Deck 2. It has its own special door for the moving in/out of old and new antimatter containment pods.

A view from the back of Compartment #2 looking back towards Compartment #1.

The newly completed Auxilary Control room.

A view of the viewscreen and other things in the Auxilary Control room.

A very old but now-fully-renovated Junction Room on Deck 2, Engineering section. It leads between the Main Engineering complex to the Auxilary Control room, and also up to the Dilithium Crystal chamber. It captures a bit of the "beer factory engineering" feel of the JJ-Trek ships, which IMO is a cool tie-in.

Another view of the junction. Me standing in what's currently the only vertical jeffries tube on the ship. Leads upwards a short distance to where you can do repairs and stuff.

Corridor on Deck 2 outside Antimatter Containment room. The hallway used to be wider here to the right, but I shrunk it down from 8 to 6 studs wide so that I had enough room for the Antimatter Containment complex.

Newly finished corridor on Deck 4.

The newly completed area that the Deck 3 Secondary Junction Room leads up to. Here is the doorway to the Shuttlebay control room, and the rest of Deck 2.

Me climbing up the stairs. I'm glad I decided to add handrails here.

Magus and I looking out a window on Deck 5 together :D

That's all for now folks!

Now that most of decks 2 and 3 are done, i'm gonna shift focus over to deck 1 to get it fully renovated. Should prove interesting as theres all sorts of junk floating around up on deck 1 from over 3 years ago

Kane class Model Miniature

People in-game have been asking me what the ship is supposed to look like when done, so I went and made a small model of the ship's intended final shape.
Its design is basically a combination of the Ptolemy class and the Kelvin class. It has all the type of parts that a Constitution class has, but they are arranged differently. It also has some added bulk in the form of a back spine section on the saucer.

The engineering hull being connected to the rest of the ship via the neck is a good design choice IMO, as it means that in the event of a core breach, you could simply detach the engineering hull. If a Constitution crew did this, they would lose their nacelles too, because their nacelles are attached via the engineering hull. So yeah that's good, you know? The bussard collectors could still be used afterwards on a Kane class after an Engineering hull detachment to collect deuterium to power the impulse reactors on the ship as well.

Images are clickable.

Instead of focusing on Deck 1, I chose to work on Decks 4 and 5 instead; that's proceeding smoothly, thankfully. I should hopefully have the Deuterium Storage Bay and Cargo Bays 3 and 4 done within the next few days.
