The rebel-held city of Aleppo is going to be assaulted by Iran, Syria, and their allies, and backed by Russian air strikes. Basically, it's going to be a bloodbath, the Russians really don't care about collateral damage, as shown when Grozny got forgeted up. And I doubt Assad and Iran really care for whatever civilians are living there as well, especially since they're Shia and most of the city is Sunni.

Didn't the Russians giving zero forgets about collateral damage also happen in the school and theatre hostage situations

Syria's done. If it was even second world before, it'll be third world tomorrow.

Syria is a doomed state, which is down to a few jets with a military that can barely wage offensives.

Even if with the backing and they magically take back everything, there will still be a lot of people who hate Assad. With all the barrel bombings, he pretty much turned his supporters against him.

Who knows maybe after a while things will blow over and Syria will become the new South Korea and everyone will be happy.
Or it just stays brutally war torn, a pretty likely outcome.
