I don't think these people are tribal
I just think they're wrong.

Wookies, Ewoks, and Droids are fine but a BLACK PERSON is a problem?
Go home. You're Drunk."
I don't understand this.
How are these fictional creatures problematic, and how would their existence make supposed white genocide less problematic?

will smith is the only black protagonist for me 👌👀

It's pointing out that a large number of the characters in the setting are not even human, but the inclusion of a black human is somehow suddenly threatening to white supremacy. None of it is important because being black or white doesn't have the same implications in the Star Wars universe as it does in the real life United States anyway.

This trashy Yahoo! clickbait news story picked a couple of youtube trolls/handicaps and decided to rile up controversy over it. Their prime example is called Anime Dating Advice for forget's sake.

Han Solo gets killed by his own son in the movie. Yeah these were just some trolls from /b/. I saw the thread when this stuff started and everything.

main character is black person
secondary character is strong independent white woman
only good white guy in film is from original cast
every villain is a white male

I wouldn't care if it wasn't for the fact that J.J. Abrams stated the main character WAS going to be black before he even started casting.

"you look around that room and you see the whitest loving room in the history of time. Its just unbelievably white. And I just thought, we’re casting this show and we have an opportunity to do anything we want, why not cast the show with actors of color?"

That means any white person who walked into the casting room looking for the main role was instantly thrown out. When you start trying to become racially diverse, you can accidentally become tribal.

are you absolutely handicapped

first off there isn't a defined main character, and even if there is, it bounces between the black man and white woman. secondly, take a look at the cast

one black man, one latino man, and the rest are white actors. why are you still complaining?

furling is back!!!

Black main character is so incredibly in your face pandering to new gen viewers, they might as well covered the whole gambit and had him in a wheel chair and having gender identity issues.

he's literally just black
