it pisses me off because my internet is complete garbage, and i can't waste time downloading huge games at 115 kb/s

some (its probably most but im too lazy to look up a statistic) don't have a choice in isp's, or if they do its probably between cable internet and dsl

my only choice is satellite or dial-up
we have satellite. I'm not sure if dial-up wouldn't be better..............

If your disk were failing your computer would have frozen. I know from experience.

in terms of ping most likely dial up would be better
download speeds would probably remain about the same

i think hillkill's problem was already resolved, but if it isn't, rip
hooper just necro'd ANOTHER dead thread
(but i do like how people want to help)

not the failing one was secondary

the download speeds are moderately ok when it's not throttled
but we have a limit of 15GB a month, after which it's throttled. and it's 2015 so that doesn't last very long
the latency is always absolute garbage though, throttled or not

you don't get to pick and choose ISPs, it's based on whoever has a setup in your area. for example, the only ISPs here are ritter communications and AT&T.

for here we have a few options, one is centurylink and another is cox, and asu has their own isp i think but students only
