i still think there's a logical reason for the pipe pistol safe thing: post-war peeps empty the safes of whatever was in there, and just use them for themselves. some guy stashes his trusty gun and some jet or whatever in there, and, like, gets killed by raiders or whatever. later on you come by and find the safe.

There also isn't anything preventing pipe weapons and jet existing pre-war.

Um jet is not a pre-war drug. Brush up on your fallout history, it was made by Myron. Also if there were any pre-war pipe weapons they would significantly be a lot more downgraded. Such as 1 shot mechanisms, lack of rapid fire, slam fire techniques.

The post war pipe weapons seem like they were perfected at least a good 100+ years after the war. They clearly aren't pre-war variants.
