oh god akio i had that keyboard
my cherry mx red mechanical is a massive improvement im sure the blues will be even better
did you get the mouse that comes with it?

it never worked for me and i stored it away

But this is not what i mean, i mean, its just an aesthetic, and why compare it to a car? car is for heavy use.
if you just dont like the colors there are plenty of mechanical keyboards out there that dont sport such a flashy appeal
its the switches that matter, cherry mx red, blue, brown, etc
they are mechanical switches compared to a membrane button on a normal keyboard
its what sets them apart from the rest of the group

sporting it right now because my sharkoon broke
the scroll wheel on mine is a bit dodgy, sometimes moves up when im scrolling down, also the DPI is absolute trash

I don't really care about whatever color keyboard i have, but if it helps whatever your needs are then you can do whatever with it.
noedit: sorry if im derailing

so is this keyboard in specific a good choice? i've had issues before with stuff where it didn't want to connect and i've had to throw it out

looks fine to me, has good reviews too

So basically "they perform better" turned into "they last longer". Well no forgetin' stuff.

They perform the same, regardless of how long their lifespan is.
i personally get a higher WPM on mechanical ones, and i've heard other say the same

From what everyone I know says and from personal experience they generally have better physical input than your average membrane keyboard. I really miss my mechanical keyboard because typing on it was a lot easier, it felt more responsive.

i like the way mine looks
also my name is printed on the keyboard's spacebar
so for $130 im down

I guess you guys just suck at typing if you do it differently on a mechanical. :P

I dunno, it seems more conclusive that higher end keyboards are more responsive instead of it being based on the users ability to use the hardware.
