fix the ambiguous title

ot: is this one of those things like the infinite chocolate bar trick

I see how it works but its hard to explain

its essentially he still has the one dollar and hes adding two the 49's together which remove a dollar each

simple
he asks for 50 dollars from each of his parents, giving him 100 dollars.
the shirt is only 97 dollars so that leaves him with 3 dollars after purchasing the shirt.
he gives each of his parents 1 dollar and keeps the last dollar for himself.

ACTUALLY WAIT WHAT THE forget I JUST READ IT AGAIN

what shirts cost 97 dollars tho

If we each put $20 in a box, And I sell you the box for $30, we both make a $10 profit. Infinite money?

so $49 you owe + $49 you owe + $1 you don't owe must clearly = $99 no

give the remaining $1 to either of your parents.
now you owe $48 + $49 = $97, which was the price of the shirt.

Ok, add this without a calculator or paper just your mind: You have 1000, add 40, add 1000, add 30, again 1000, add 20, add again 1000 and finally 10. What is the result?

4100

but shouldn't you owe $100 dollars because that is what you were given? what happened to the three dollars
