theyre just standard names for hard drive partitions i think

GPT?
Not sure. I can't find any useful specs on it and I can't check directly because I'm not at it right now.

IIRC most hard drives under 3-4 TB on a 512 byte sector disk are required to be MBR since MBR cant address HDD space past 3-4 TB. I think its required to switch to GPT to get more space, since GPT can address more space

C: is where i store my steam games and OS so its a bit full

yeah you can set it to any letter you want iirc

Still have to install a 500gb SSD even

i would have to give up my Air 540 if i wanted to get more hard drives

or i would have to get all SSD's

the letters themselves mean nothing, but each drive must have a letter
and it only applies to windows. other operating systems don't do this exact thing (but they do, of course, have other names for drives)
the main drive is usually C:
I'm not sure if that's required or just a seriously common convention, but if it's optional, changing it would probably break badly-written software

I have the 250gb 840 evo plus a WD Blue 1tb drive. My case allows me to slide drives into the top to hot swap them while my computer is running so I use that often, right now it's got some random 250gb laptop drive installed, I named it "stuffe".

the flash makes my case look so dirty
