how am I supposed to back it up? like I said, there simply doesn't exist a way for them to do what tony is saying. there is no way to prove that. what could hypothetically be proven, however, is that they are capable of it, so feel free to try (but you won't get very far)

they also do not own the concepts in your videos
if you allowed them to register a trademark for something that you created, I'm sure that alone would be possible, but they have no authority to force you to do it
and furthermore "snails react" is a very basic english sentence. it is descriptive. you wouldn't be able to do anything about someone else making a video with that title

I didn't say you can't file for trademarks, only that there's nothing you can do about someone saying "snails react"
youtube taking videos down is not representative of the law. to my knowledge, all you have to do is report a video enough times and they'll take it down, regardless of what's actually in the video. so unless the video was taken down as a result of legitimate legal action, it doesn't really matter. all that shows is that youtube is a pushover

more: trademarks exist to protect companies. even if it is something simple like "snails react" it's possible for them to win a lawsuit over it, but that's only going to happen if it's abundantly clear that you're trying to copy them or pretend to be them. if your videos have existed longer than the trademark then they would certainly not be able to win that suit (but the suit may still happen because you can sue for anything; all that matters is who wins)
