Author Topic: Visolator's servers - Tower Defense reboot (ideas?)  (Read 18175 times)

Lol, it had a runtime error. Looks like I didn't add the exe to the fortwars, doing that right now, then launching.

Server is back up: Exe is added so it shouldn't crash from now on unless it runs for more than ~2 weeks

Didn't Viso had a boss battles back in 2014?

Pff that was a long time ago

Should the Fortwars have a terrain map?

Not made using PTG, but ye'ol fashion way

I'm not a fan of giant static shapes

Well, it worked with Glass's server

Why not make a small terrain map using PTG?

Or just build the terrain.

Didn't Viso had a boss battles back in 2014?
I remember this, so long ago.

In terms of terrain, perhaps using a similar brick sculpting program as Heedicalking used on his own map.  That fully bricked map has everything that you could possibly want - Tight places, wide expanses, hills and towering mountains.  It would be a pain to build on for less patient players without modter, but it's just a suggestion.

Oh, by the way, I'm the leader of the Q-Stein Empire, which is a team in Fortwars.  I was in the middle of creating a giant mechanical modter fortress-gone-industrial-city, opposite to one of Judicial's members, who I am close allies with (before the terrain experiment).  I may have to start again, but I'll become more efficient with image references.

The main reason why I stopped doing modter is because first, it's going to eat near 50k bricks, but not just that, you can't forget how bad your client lags when ghosting modter.

Not doing terrain fort wars again, modter is literally a bitch to ghost. Resuming flat fort wars.

I gathered.  Just a suggestion.

Plus PTG had a nasty issue where all the terrain was generated mid-air, which means if you deleted your stuff via undo or /clearbricks, it'd take a good chunk of modter with it.

Finite, limited play area + anyone could rip it apart if they wanted = "nah not doing terrain forget this stuff holla"

One of the admins showed us how to delete the modter.  Boy, everyone was having fun with that.
