Author Topic: how do i get over a fear of driving?  (Read 6806 times)

I don't think so but power to you anyway
How many times have you written stupid things on the internet due to you making a kneejerk reaction or being jealous, egotistical, and hateful? I prefer to stay as emotionally neutral as possible, because it actually makes me feel like not wanting to delete everything I've written here or anywhere else. I guess It's more of a problem with me irrationally not liking myself than anything else. It's what depression does to you.

Practice in a parking lot or something

Just take it easy, look for a nice empty neighborhood road, and don't floor it

He can't even get in the drivers seat without having a heart attack

i mean it sounds good to not feel anything (it did to me at first), but then i realized life would be really boring and slow if i continued to take them.

If you really don't want to drive then don't

one time i drove into another car and i still drive to this day if thats not motivation i dont know what is

do you want to drive

this is the most important question

FL calls them driving permits (requires parents or instructor to be in car)
actually its anyone thats 21 years of age or older who has their license
not just a parent or instructor

Don't fret hillkill  c:
It's a skill for life and doesn't need to be rushed at all, you should do it when you feel ready

I was the exact same and got my provisional license just over 2 years ago; same thing with me getting really anxious and panicked about getting into a car to drive. But recently I plucked up the courage to start driving and it's been okay.

If it helps, for me I think that it was to do with having stresses from outside sources like school, work, family or friends etc. Having those and learning to drive at the same time felt like a lot of pressure to me and I personally couldn't deal with that.
After finishing school and now just having a job, the pressure feels a lot less on me.

Just chill out and take your time man c:

Around here, it has to be a parent or instructor for the first six months of having the learner's permit. After those six months, it can be anyone 21+.

try having a few beers first, that'll carm your nerves.
