an arg is an alternate reality game, and on forums used when there are hidden things in topics which lead into a big puzzle. swollow has done one before iirc. ever since there have been many bad attempts especially recently. it pretty much just snowballed into a blf meme to call 'arg' whenever something cryptic or whatever is done like what just happened
