The attempt to make twitter 'safer' kind of defeats the purpose of the platform in the first place. I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that Anita is going to use her new position to further any of her agendas and this is going to stir up a huge pot of controversy.

Anita Sarkeesian simply doesn't have the best interests at heart when it comes to managing a community.

I said this earlier today in a different thread, and IMO it pretty much sums this whole incident up:

we live in the special snowflake age, where its not your freedom of speech that matters, but your freedom from hearing speech you dont like (which entails broadsweeping censorship and policing of words and thoughts) that matters.
