You also rank candidates in single-transferable vote but you usually elect multiple reps per district. That's how you should elect local reps anyways

A revolution to what? Don't be so naive, you realize that contemporary revolutions/coups almost always end in an authoritarian opportunist seizing power, right? Whenever a power vacuum is created (as in the collapse/overthrow of a government) there is a chance for a tyrant to rise.Ex: Junta/AAA installing Pinochet in Chile, Chavez in Venezuela, Castro in Cuba, China/Soviet backed paramilitary forces installing the Kim regime in NK, etc etc.
