but these are cops, literally their job is to risk their lives to protect other people. they were prepared for it in training. if they are not mentally prepared for it personally then they shouldn't have even applied for the job. it's an unacceptable failure on their part. they were put into this position to protect people, as the only people there who could, and they made a conscious decision not to do so. there is really no excuse. it's one thing if we're talking about random armed citizens. but we're not
