if your entire life is stuff and you're scared and you have no power to do anything about it, unconventional means are the natural progression. that's why protests, riots, and rebellions happen. they aren't going to want to change because these methods are all they can think to do. obviously that doesn't mean it's right, but people are a product of their environment above all else

Okay, but fear and stoning gays and rape victims to death while preventing the empowerment of women isn't an excuse and its obviously wrong. They aren't protesting for democracy or secularism they're quite content with their leadership. In most gulf countries the government provides a generous welfare to its native citizens, so these people don't have to work and contribute anything to society.

And basically what I'm saying is until it changes and until we can find a proper way to vet those that come in we shouldn't have open border policies like the EU does. It would be reckless and impatient.

okay but family values isn't the reason people are proposing closing the borders to muslims, it's terrorism. usually, if you take the muslims out of the malevolent environments of the middle-east, they will not grow up brainwashed by radical views, and if they're already an adult, it wont take too long for them to figure out that those radical beliefs were only instilled in them to keep them oppressed by fear. i don't think we should just let anyone walk in, obviously. i think if immigrants are inspected for possible terrorist ties they'll understand, considering where they came from. (everybody gets monitored by the nsa anyways, nothing new there.) but i don't think we should just bar every single immigrant out of the country like donald Annoying Orange suggests. that would only keep them in that toxic environment for longer, letting the problem fester, and let radical beliefs seep in.
