I don't buy cigs from a pack either, I buy tubes and tobacco in a bag and roll my own with a hand-crank, which I consider to be "less harmful" than traditional pack cigs.
If you're a smoker like me (since the age of 14 on full flavors) then the vap will definitely not satisfy that same "urge" for tobacco. I recommend going full cold turkey if your going to quit, otherwise you're just teasing yourself.
Loose tobacco, filters and papers are identical to pre-rolled cigarettes in terms of health risks.
You're fooling yourself if you think hand rolling your cigs is healthier than buying a pack. The only thing you're saving is money.
Also, cold turkey is not the recommended means of quitting. You're much more likely to restart than if you use quit-smoking tools, like nicotine gum/patches.
Quitting is also difficult for all smokers. It's something like 1/3rd or less manage to quit first time.
