Review blockland
Blockland, that game where you build stuff. What a charming introduction.
I've played this game for six goddamn years. That's nearly half of my life. Almost. I've enjoyed every second of it, probably accumulating more than 3k hours in both idle and active playtime. I have over 700 hours logged in my steam version, and god knows how many I had in the standalone download. This game has to be one of the most captivating media of creative expression I've seen in my life. Yes, you can paint a painting or draw on a piece of paper and make it your own, you can write a story, you can review stuff, you can even build with Legos in the physical world. All of these things either have no built-in guidance or have limits. This game gives you an unlimited creative palette (now even more so, with the raised brick limit) without having to buy more bricks to build with, having to ruffle through your lego box, having to buy more ink, etc. The game gives you guidance, as well. You can load up the default buildings and be amazed by what such a simple concept can produce with builds such as ACM City, Pyramid, Cottage, and so on. You can study those and apply them to your own style, not to mention you can even make stuff explode and shoot stuff and kill things. You can code a computer with relays and a versatile event system. The possibilities with this game (disregarding engine restrictions) are endless with what kind of games and events you can create. It's all self driven, and you can share your ideas with people you know.
I give Blockland a good 10/10. This game has inspired me in many ways.
