Due to Japan's minimal participation in the war, the USA demands the Philippines instead. The USA will pay Spain for infrastructure loss in the Philippines. Spain should give us Philippines instead.
Due to the situation, the Philippines will be given much more local autonomy, and will soon become a Protectorate with all bonuses that come along with such a status, eventually becoming a independent body of the federal government - this is to protect the Philippines from Japanese misbehavior. No offense to you Japan, but this is ours.

Furthermore, the USA will occupy Cuba for a short period of time, in order to enforce the power of Cuba's new government. Furthermore, after this period, Cuba will officially ally the USA as a sovereign Constitutional Republic (;-;7) and lay the tales of freedom and independence to the rest of the Caribbean.
Of note, the USA will gain a port in Guantanamo Bay, as well as a port in Puerto Rico. This inconvenience will be offset by (cheap) rent paid to Cuba.
