luxuries for nobles
it's not just silks lol

we do gib you the coffee and mango yes

I think the reason I'm so split is because of how sudden this is. We went from 0 to World War in about an hour IRL time. In any kind of semi-realistic scenario, this would go to a crCIA and take a while to erupt into war.
that's what I'm saying
tension is too low, so Germany shouldn't be able to declare

Korea requests independence from Japan
Request denied.

Yeah I'm saying the dog will smell bad

Mangos and coffee would be splendid, I can already smell an alliance forming

I can already smell an alliance forming

i'm sorry no
i mean you are a good trade partner, being asian, but being so far away across the pacific ocean and a vassal/protectorate of japan i can't really do much with you

what do you mean too low, i had 8% to spare

that's what I'm saying
tension is too low, so Germany shouldn't be able to declare

and japan shouldn't be able to get away with outright betraying an alliance that they joined in order to convince a nation to give them the pacific but here we are

the qing government starts suppressing opium usage throughout the country by limiting foreign importation of the substance and implementing a licensing for the entire supply chain in china, from farmers to merchants to the opium dens to make dealing with the substance less profitable

i'm sorry no

I-It's alright I-I'm just so l-lonely over here in the e-east

and japan shouldn't be able to get away with outright betraying an alliance that they joined in order to convince a nation to give them the pacific but here we are

this is very good for the propaganda

china builds out better roads so that the military can mobilize better

why? it's a completely plausible situation given the circumstances and it doesn't break any rules
I'm roleplaying to make the best japan possible. that's how the game works.
but if we're going to have a tension to world war mechanic, it doesn't make sense that we can go straight to a world war at 33%. It's obviously higher, but not 100% from 33%. It'd cause some annoyed diplomats and maybe a little concern for leaders.
there's also not really much germany can do to me given our distance from each other. their only close colony was in China and that port is under siege.

you don't honestly see whats wrong gameplay or historically wise?

Germany declares war on Britain and Russia as well

a reminder that you were the one that wanted to start the world war by giddly skipping away from your second alliance with a swath of new territories and then immediately joining up with two other powers to scare me into no retaliation. you only brought this on yourself and its cowardly not to face the consequences of your actions

no?? you offered me land in exchange for a contract, and I took the land and threw out the contract. It's a dirty trick, but it was all part of the game. Don't offer what you're not willing to lose.

i am 100% unwilling to start dirt throwing and semantic arguing, if you didn't want to fight a world war you shouldn't have incited it

Well I mean, taking the land and not fulfilling a contract should be good enough reason for a war to happen. That seems like a completely legitimate reason for war to break out, and hiding behind the tension system is pretty stuffty.
