I actually used this. It's even better than I expected. (I was saying how awesome it was from the features list.) It's way more useful than you'd think. You can position things much more easily without using the shift keys, which is frustrating sometimes. It's now one of the several tools I'll soon be unable to build without. (Drop-Down Search and New Duplicator being the two others.)
I really recommend getting it.

grid-placement ain't out yet
and we can't start worship without a grid of spammed bricks
grids of spammed bricks are crucial to worship of addon-gods

Uh... Are the preferences in the Transitional RTB thing? Not seein' 'em.
EDIT: and isn't there an option for placing bricks midair? Not seeing that either.

No, you're misunderstanding. I thought there was an option that made it so that instead of not placing when nothing was in range it just placed it at a point midair. I have Hackplant, but I can't put ghost bricks midair.
