There's no reason not to. There are plenty of schools that won't accept your scores if you haven't taken the writing part either.

i feel like i'd forget it up because i need to concentrate and think, and there is a small time available. i think that would mess up my score more if i did bad on it

No you don't. With 20 minutes, all they are expecting of you is a fairly coherent argument and proper grammar/spelling. Spend the first 2 minutes coming up with a thesis and 2-3 major points to write about, and then use the remaining time to get as much on the page as possible.

Hard to say with a poll in which someone can decide to take part in or not. People with low scores might not want to put that in a poll. People with higher score are far more likely too. This poll would be much more accurate if the sample was chosen by the surveyer.
