Author Topic: Window 10 is almost a year old.  (Read 6134 times)

upgraded on my laptop, it messed up a bunch of games. i'm just gonna keep win7 on my main pc...

i run 7 and i like the layout of it, and i don't really want to upgrade because of all the horror stories i've heard about beloved games suddenly not working
imo there's nothing wrong with 7 and if it ain't broke, don't fix it

windows 10 is great on my laptop and tablet, but whenever i try to run it on my desktop the hardware is never compatible so I'm constantly crashing (regardless of updated drivers and resets and refreshes and reboots et cetera et cetera)

I have Windows 8.1 on my laptop (non-touchscreen laptop) and it's really good, it's basically a refurbished version of Windows 7 imo. When I'm able to build my PC (and buy the parts) I'll be installing Windows 10 Pro fresh

I haven't updated to 10 simply because I'm happy with what I have already and there's quite a few problems with some games I have on 10 so eh why bother

afaik its riddled with ads. i dont use it and i dont want to use it

7 < 10 mathematically
7 > 10 literally

7 < 10 mathematically
7 > 10 literally
windows 7 is much worse than 10

It runs what I need it to run perfectly well, and I have yet to come across a crash due to a game not functioning properly.

I wasn't really going to bother upgrading from 8.1 to 10 (mainly laziness and having only just gotten comfy with 8.1).
But then my mum upgraded to 10, and I had to upgrade too because my mum always comes to me when she has a problem or doesn't know how to do something. It's hard enough guiding her when we both have the same OS, and it would have been impossible if I didn't even know what her OS looked like.

But I'm very happy with 10. I've had no issues and I like that I no longer have a second desktop in the Metro page.

Everything is better than windows 8. That OS was awful.
So that means Windows ME was better than Windows 8.

I give you a challenge, run Windows ME for more than 2 hours without it crashing. Its almost impossible.

I have Whindows 10. I love it.

yeah i had this problem too when i upgraded, but a fresh install on a new PC is working perfectly. no complaints so far. i have the pro version tho so i could actually disable the annoying update behavior that a lot of people complain about (forcing you to restart). iirc you can only disable that through a relatively obscure msc panel on the pro version which is kinda stupid. might not be the case anymore but luckily i don't have to deal with it

windows 10 breaks some of my games graphically so i stopped using it
in addition to having to turn like 100 features off to make actually using my computer bearable
