Author Topic: my motivation to do anything just shriveled up and died (im cool now)  (Read 2043 times)

1. get other people involved. get them up on skype or work on a server with them. it's a lot more encouraging when you aren't alone
2. just start working on something. force yourself to do art or build and eventually you'll get into it
3. put on a documentary, podcast, netflix show, or something like that while you work. it might make it more enjoyable
4. go try something new, or something you haven't done in awhile. sometimes when i get bored i'll reinstall an old steam game and try it out again.
5. similar to #1, social activities can help a lot with this sort of thing. after something social and a little stressful like Dungeons & Dragons or a good co-op game, or you know, actual human interaction, you'll enjoy being alone more.
6. turn those lights on. drink some caffeine. if you act like it's night you won't want to work as much.
7. clean up around your area. my work desk tends to go in cycles getting gradually more disgusting and crowded until i finally have enough (weekly?) and spend a really small amount of time (like 3-5 minutes) to clean it up. and once i get that done all the work feels a little better.
8. go outside and get some mild exercise. like walking your dogs or hiking to a nearby store
9. realize that it's okay to not do anything one day. that's the whole point of summer
10. Self Delete by stab

When I get like that I just flick through some webcomics until I want to do something

i started working on an edit of afghan dm to work better with a team deathmatch with kiro so the feeling seems to have subsided.
i'll post a topic in general discussion if anyone's interested in it

I think you're depressed or tired, take a nap or something.
Yeah.

force yourself to do it. as someone who's experienced that feeling a lot due to depression, you don't do yourself any good sittin around. you gotta eat, so make your sandwich even if you don't want to. do it because you gotta

If your live style and attitudes brought you to the point where it takes willpower just to survive or socialize, I'm not sure it'll help you to think of things like making a sandwich as some kind of all-out effort.

If I had to give a suggestion, it would be to focus your willpower on grander ideas than just outright survival or self-pleasure. Engaging in things like self-improvement, community service, learning new skills, or setting up large projects would make day-to-day stuff a lot less of a hassle because things like eating sandwiches or taking showers would then serve a purpose in your mind worthy of said hassle.

set out ambitious life goals and run toward the horizon on a spiritual journey through the cosmos

no drugs though

maybe a little bit of drugs

this is the only solution out of experience

You're just tired
Take a good sleep

Sometime we will all just shrivel up and die anyway.
