Yes, I know it's been quite a while, but the server is still active. The current project is set in the Arctic Circle, on Svietny Island (fictitious location) in 2022 following the War in Syria. In 2017, continually-escalated tensions caused the US to intervene in Syria. Russia, also, joined in. A campaign was launched to destroy CIA, but also to bring stabilization in the region. American and Russian interests contrasted, and eventually set the two parties at odds with one another. In 2020, the Russia-Syria camp gained a huge tactical advantage by capturing Damascus and called for a massive hostage crCIA for America, including the president and the Secretary of State. In order to resolve this, Russia demanded only two conditions. The first was to stay out of the Middle East. The second was to cede land claimed in the Arctic used for oil drilling to Russia. With no choice, America conceded, but remains very bitter about Russia's cunning move.
Svietny is an island situated north of Siberia, where temperatures frequently reach below zero. It is a land of ice, oil, bears, and a few staunch inhabitants who call this land their home. Because of heightened tensions along Russia's northern lands, a series of organizations, or the Арктические Патрули Безопасности (АПБ/APB), or Arctic Safety Patrols (ASP), were founded in the northern lands of Russia. Their duties intersect those of domestic police, Arctic Search & Rescue, and the Coast Guard of the Border Service of the FSB. The Svietny Prefecture is one of the smallest islands that has its own АПБ/ASP branch, namely the Svietny Prefecture Arctic Safety Patrol (SPASP) or the Префектура Свиетний Арктический Патруль Безопасности (ПСАПБ/PSAPB). Its duty is to ensure the safety of civilians against bears, the cold, criminals, and often their own stupidity. They also ensure the safety of vessels traveling out to sea for arctic drilling operations.
Svietny Island is home to three cities, Dvatsosk (Двацоск), the regional capital, Naminsk (Наминск), an outpost, and Antovy (Антовий), a port town. In the cold November, snow, ice and darkness greatly hinder visibility, so travel across the island becomes difficult.
