I don't think it was mentioned, but this new Ghostbusters film cost the studio $144 Million. Popular films make back their budget on the first day or two.
They will likely make back the budget, I really doubt they'll get a windfall of earnings. I think they've polarised too much of the audience and their marketing campaign was essentially "forget men". That's exactly how you want to get the paying customers on side, amirite?
