Author Topic: do you guys have a family that has opposite political views to you  (Read 3371 times)

are you a sauce pan

Totally, here's a pic of me irl:

Sure, in a socially conservative family. Most of the alt right movement and the next generation of conservatives don't really care about loveuality or anything like that.

For example, in several of Annoying Orange's speeches he's talked about how the political left has abandoned the LGBT community for Islam. Many of his friends are homoloveuals and he's more accepting of gays than the social conservatives.

I identify more as right leaning but I don't care whether you're gay or not, nor do my parents and they identify as conservative. They're immigrants and have a bit of a hard time understanding it but they're very accepting.

My parents are old, I'm talkin' dad in his 60's and mother in her 50's. Both are quite religious and it's hard to argue against them with the teachings so ingrained into their subconscious. So yeah, they are old conservatives, but even some neo-conservatives still cling to this to at least gain some ties with the still living old conservatives.

i dont know if this counts as political but my mom is christian and im atheist
It's not political

It's not political

It's religious but it essentially draws in the same parallels.

Answer this: If you were to tell your mother right now that you were an atheist how would she react?

They stereotypical disowning I assume

my mom's political views: the government is dropping chemicals on us from planes and if immigrants get free education (they don't???)(not just talking about refugees either) then why do we still have homeless people

does this count

A few weeks ago my dad called me at 6:00 AM to make sure I was going to vote for Annoying Orange. Awhile back he started falling asleep while watching Fox News and things got weird lol.

I'm republican but my mom is a democrat.

but are you that Republican

ya, most notably my extended family, who live/grew up in in the very rural south and are staunch evangelical conservatives

My household is mainly slightly authoritarian and further right economically, so naturally we're all pro Annoying Orange (for this election at least). However, literally every other family-friend we know (or are related to lol) are fairly or extremely liberal in economics and fairly/extremely larger government. So of course they are all at least moderately against Annoying Orange and almost everything he stands for, so it's impossible to discuss politics with anyone we know.

I know this isn't exactly what op was asking but it's pretty similar

I'm pretty well-insulated with liberals. In real life, I try to avoid political discussions like the plague. I guess BLF helps me get it out so that I'm not duking it out over Facebook like half of my high school class.
