Christianity just prolonged the dark ages with their bullstuff crusades.
I wonder how different we would be if that never happened.
First, the crusades occurred in the 11th-13th centuries, after the dark ages ended.
Second, the crusades brought neat stuff back to europe, like spices, castle designs, and more advanced mathematics.
Third, the third crusade was the loving best thing with Richard the Lionheart, Frederick Barbarossa, and Saladin.
Fourth, they were started for more political reasons. (the first started because Constantinople was being harassed and the pope wanted to get the warring Franks out of his hair)
Fifth, if you're nihilistic, why are you trying to force your beliefs?
