i'd like to know because i seriously don't understand why metal is popular

so i suppose you're a big fan of it then??

What most people see is the superficial surface of teens who enjoy bands like Asking Alexandria and Emmure, bands who's existence and popularity exist because of money. They're pop metal and generally write the laziest stuff possible to appeal to the widest possible audience. Another section of the "surface" image is the dad rock group, people who still listen to Metallica and Iron Maiden. Why do people like metal? I don't loving know. Why do people like avocado? stuffs wierd. What I can tell you is that in the deeper sections of metal that most people don't see, is the musicianship and honesty to the whole of music itself that these artists deliver. These artists are making music because they love music and want to write. Metal carries its own level of emotion that isn't conparable to any other genre. The aggression and outpouring of emotion that can be achieved in metal is something a lot of people are attracted to. And when I say aggression, I don't mean anger and angst. I mean just the level of power that the instruments can deliver. The -culture- and community in these deeper sects can have an incredible sense of comradery. Artists in this group also are incredibly connected with their fans and vice versa. Going to a concert with these kinds of bands is almost like being in one big family reunion.

just saying "Metal sucks stuff" is silly. disliking shallow music or music you don't like the sound of is understandable, but "Metal sucks stuff" is just too big a generalization to justify

i suppose it's specifically dad rock and metal that i hate. thank you for helping me more specifically figure out my dislikes.

wrong. i don't like the sound of any metal song that i've ever heard; it's not a generalization. "rap" also has a much larger variety of types of music.

lmao nonnel don't shoot yourself in the foot
