are they going to hop over the gunfire, too? :^)

You mean those flying things that require a large some of money and a passport to board?
I think you might be surprised at the number of illegal immigrants who didn't come to america by literally border-hopping but rather by legally coming into the country on a tourist visa and just never leaving

I mean the wall is gonna take a while to build all the immigrants are going to hop over it at once when it is still being built. Do you guys think it's an effective way of actually keeping immigrants out?
yes.

Walls work. Build it.

you're comparing a 400 mile wall in a warzone to a 2000 mile wall along a peaceful border. one's going to have more troops guarding it than the other.

I'd imagine Hamas has more resources to bypass/avoid the wall. I'd imagine a bunch of disorganized desert-crossers would have a more difficult time getting over/past the wall.

It's a double edged sword, surely, but I'd imagine it would serve as a fantastic deterrent to any would-be border jumpers.

all i know is if he gets more spending ratified on the border wall, i'm gonna invest in the ladder business

So if a wall works in a warzone then wont it work on a peaceful border?

1. The decrease in bombings coincides with the building of the wall. Correlation does not imply causation, however.
2. Trying to (illegally) immigrate to a country is not the same thing as bombing it. They have different motivations and different methods - if you're looking to bomb a place, you're probably not going to worry about crossing a barrier quietly.
3. The smaller size of the wall makes it easier to monitor. Duh.
4. Most importantly, illegal immigration won't be stopped by a physical barrier no matter the size because illegal immigration isn't caused by literal border-hopping:

It's as easy as visiting a foreign country for tourism, and not making the return trip.

Iirc that's like 27-40% which means 60-73% are literally border-hopping
