soft fries are great but I like crunchy ones now and then
if they're short, they need to be soft because crunchy and soft is just a choking hazard waiting to happen, but if they're long you can have either, so long is objectively better because you get more options
same goes for soft because it can be long or short, so with that in mind, the best combination is long and soft
