Author Topic: Hows this for a first gun model?  (Read 684 times)

So i've been wanting to make my own weapon addon in blockland for a while now, so I looked at some guides and whatnot and  came up with a little demo model thingy.

any chance we could get a better angle? to be honest from the angle you gave it just looks like the default gun with a few grooves in the handle

Sure thing:

I know the side of the gun could definitely use more round edges and detail but before I finished it, I didn't really know how.

The sides definitely need improvement but it's otherwise a cool model

Sure thing:

o thanks
ya i like the rounded edges on the back and bottom part of it

I'm working on another gun like this,

damn this is much better than my first model. You're definitely on the path to gun model divinity here.

Also, just for the future, I suggest you post these in the creativity section. There are a lot of people who love to critique and share creative ideas there, and you'd definitely get more fans and probably even people willing to help you if you post these here. For now though, don't worry about it.

I'm not one to force modeling styles upon other people, but here's a little tip: when modeling guns, it's always good to start with a flat 2d image off the internet and break it up into sections. It looks like that's what you're doing here, but just in case its a good place to start.

Great Tip.

Great Tip.
Another tip that might help: if you take a liking for modeling, make sure you do it daily. When you make a model every day or two days, you eventually get to build your own style, while simultaneously improving your modeling skills. Try not to go all out and make like 10 guns in one day. Space it out, and you'll find your models to improve vastly in a short amount of time.
