Im back from work, but anyway the right to life is important, and so is the right to own a firearm, what you don't grasp is that when a police man isn't following you around everywhere, your firearm becomes the way you defend your right to life
it also becomes a tool to take a life, which is a rare but possible case. Similar to how many people dont want refugees in the united states because they may be stealth terrorists, having guns absolutely legal in largely populated areas is a threat to everyone. Its safer to put restrictions on firearms in big, densely populated areas for the safety of others, while giving full freedom to people who want to use them in less populated areas.
I personally live right next to a literal ghetto, and I've never even had my life threatened once. On the other hand, many people who advocate for 2nd amendment rights live in a rich neighborhood where the only visible threats are squirrels or cracks in the cement.
I have no problem with people owning or carrying guns, but I would actually feel very uncomfortable if someone was carrying one near me. Most other people will feel the same, especially minorities and people of color who are already at a social disadvantage because of their race. We can't actually rely on the court and law system of our country to give us justice, since there's a whole social stigma about how most minorities are criminals and are a threat to your life. looking at the Trayvon Martin case, theres a lot of touchy aspects that could easy point to it being a self defense case, or otherwise.
I just want to live in a gun-free zone so I don't become another statistic. It's not too much to ask, wanting to live without fear of being shot.
