what kind of backwoods hick microwaves bacon

My parents (and what seems to be the majority of australians) refuse to buy any kind of bacon except short-cut bacon, which isn't loving bacon, it's basically warm ham which is inferior to regular cold ham. Streaky bacon is, in my opinion, the best. Especially when it comes from America, because in America they smoke it and make it taste good, and it's also much bigger (cheaper too)

I like cooking my bacon in a sandwhich press. Keeps it nice, flat and even against the heated surface, instead of curling up, resulting in some parts being uncooked.

You wanna have a forgetin' go mate? Can't beat a good aussie brekky with bacon, eggs, toast, tomato, sausage and hash brown. Drowned in tomato sauce.

I mean, it sounds good, but it'd be better if you used proper bacon over bland chewy warm ham

microwavable bacon is easier to cook, tastes just about the same, and doesn't leave you with grease burns if you forget up

It's more a lazy thing really. It doesn't taste bad, but it's not quite as good as bacon fried on a hot pan.
But given that it takes 6 minutes to fry bacon (lets say 10 to account for heating the pan and oil), it's generally worth it to fry it instead.

At university the only reason anyone ever microwaved bacon was to avoid having to wash a frying pan.
